    FAQs

    Most MDF wall panels are installed using construction adhesive and finishing or trim nails. Apply adhesive to the back of the panel, press it into place, then secure it with a 16-gauge nails to hold everything while it sets. This gives you a clean install with minimal filling before painting.

    Heavier MDF sheets or thicker panels are usually screwed into wall studs instead. That approach is more secure but requires filling, sanding, and more finishing work afterward. Always pre-drill pilot holes in the MDF to avoid splitting the material.

    For most decorative MDF wall paneling, especially lighter panels, nails plus adhesive is the fastest and cleanest method.

    MDF wall panels are not fully waterproof, but they can handle normal indoor humidity when properly finished. Once primed and painted on all sides (including the top and bottom edges, they’re suitable for spaces like living rooms, bedrooms, and even bathrooms with good ventilation. They should not be installed in direct wet areas, such as inside showers or anywhere with constant water exposure.

    It is usually better to install MDF paneling with finishing nails and construction adhesive. Nails are faster to install, leave smaller holes, and require less filling and sanding. Use a nail gun to install the finishing nails at various angles, to prevent movement and sagging. The adhesive provides extra support and makes the installation permanent.

    Screws are typically only used for heavier MDF sheets or panels that need to be fixed directly into studs. They provide a stronger hold but require pre-drilling and more finishing work to cover the screw heads.

    For most decorative MDF wall paneling, nails plus adhesive is the preferred method.

    Yes, MDF wall panels are worth the investment if you want a clean, built-in look without the cost of solid wood. They’re stable, easy to install, and paint evenly, which makes them a reliable choice for both decorative accents (built in shelving, kitchen island backing, etc.) and full feature wall paneling.

    Compared to raw MDF sheets, decorative MDF panels offer finished profiles and faster installation. Options with a PVC backing also add durability and help protect against minor moisture, making them a more complete, ready-to-install solution.

    Yes. MDF can be installed directly onto a wall using construction adhesive, finishing nails, or a combination of both. Raw MDF sheets will typically need more prep and finishing, while MDF wall panels with a protective backing, like a PVC layer, are better suited for direct installation and help protect against minor moisture from the wall surface.

    It was my first project using Andor willow panels and it came out great! Took me two days total - one for building a frame around existing hood and gluing panels, and second for painting. Very easy to work with and looks beautiful!

    We had a good experience with receiving and installing the product. Some of the edges of the veneer were (very) slightly damaged, but in my opinion, not enough to warrant a refund/replacement. With the help of a laser level, the install was quick and easy. I've added some photos. I've recommended the product to several friends already.

    I couldn’t be happier with these paintable ribbed wall panels! They were some of the most reasonably priced options I found online, and the quality exceeded my expectations. I hired a handyman to handle the installation, and after touching up the seams and the top of the wall with a little light caulking, the finished result was absolutely flawless.

    The panels took paint beautifully, and the transformation they brought to my room is incredible. This feature wall has completely elevated the look of my space, and every time I walk into my house, I feel so excited and proud to see it!

    We absolutely LOVE our wood slat room divider! Our living space is an awkward size, and this divider was the perfect addition to give the room dimension and a stylish touch while keeping everything feeling open and airy. It truly transforms the space and adds a lot of character. Guests always mention the slats when they see them for the first time.

    The installation was straightforward if you're even a little handy, though we'd definitely recommend using a laser plumb bob to ensure everything lines up perfectly. It made the process much easier and more precise for us.

    Also, the customer service was top notch. When we received the package, we had a small amount of missing hardware which was promptly taken care of for free.

    Overall, a great product, and will definitely come back if we need to add more design details to our house.
