How do you install tongue and groove wall planks?

Tongue and groove wall planks can be installed using brad nails, construction adhesive, or a combination of both. The recommended installation method is called blind nailing: driving 16-gauge nails at a 45-degree angle through the tongue edge, so the nails are hidden by the next plank. This produces a completely fastener-free finished surface. For tongue and groove ceiling installations, both adhesive and nails are required. Can tongue and groove panels be installed horizontally and vertically?

Yes. Our tongue and groove wood paneling can be installed either vertically or horizontally depending on the look you are going for. Vertical installation draws the eye upward and makes ceilings feel taller, making it a popular choice for entryways, living rooms, and bedrooms. Horizontal installation works well as wainscoting or as a feature treatment in dining rooms and hallways.

Do grooved wood panels work on ceilings?

Yes, tongue and groove wood paneling can be installed on ceilings as well as walls. For ceiling installations, a combination of construction adhesive and 16-gauge finishing nails driven into joists or solid sheathing is recommended. The result is a warm, continuous grooved wood ceiling that works particularly well in living rooms, bedrooms, and entryways.

Poor Quality

I spent $5000 on these panels (even more with installation); they have only been installed 2 months and they are already warping. I can't leave them in the open position as pictured b/c they look bad with the bowing. I hope they don't get worse b/c I drilled hole in my floors thinking this was a good long-term solution to create separation in an open loft space. The quality doesn't match the price.
