A Little Separation
Has Never Looked This Good
Has Never Looked This Good
The first of its kind in North America, we designed our Wood Slat Room Divider to be an innovative and stylish partition that creates separation in a space, while simultaneously elevating the aesthetic appeal.
Meticulously crafted with a high-density MDF core and real hardwood (Walnut or Oak species) veneer, each slat is perfectly straight and dimensionally stable, every time. No need to worry about warping or twisting, ever.
The slats come pre-finished; the Walnut slats are stained for a warm, natural tone and finished with a satin lacquer. The European slats are finished with 3 coats of satin clear coat lacquer. The Black Oak slats are Red Oak veneer, painted with a water-based satin black finish.
Included with every order is our patent-pending hardware kit, which allows each slat to be rotated 360º, and all wood slats have CNC-drilled holes on each end to make installation a breeze.
Not only that, but the hardware allows you to move and remove the slats without damaging them - the spring-loaded design keeps the slats securely in place, while still allowing them to be easily removed in seconds when needed.
This product is sold by the box. Each box of the 4.7" wide slats contains four slats, and each box of the 9.5" wide slats contains two slats.
While we make every effort to accurately represent the wood tone of our products, wood is a natural material with variability - please order samples to confirm that the wood finish is perfect for your space.
We've spent two years crafting the most durable, intuitive and easy-to-use hardware kit.
What used to require several tools and an expert for installation, is now a stress-free DIY project.
Every slat comes with machine precision-drilled holes, so the hardware simply needs to be inserted and tightened with a screwdriver.
Move it, reconfigure it, add to it, bring it with you.
While it looks like it was custom built, the room divider can be removed and endlessly reconfigured without damaging the slats.
Each slat is fastened to the floor and ceiling independently. This makes for the most straightforward installation and allows you to rotate each slat individually from the others.
Our slats are crafted from two materials:
1. The surface of each slat is a 1mm thick natural wood veneer, from either American Black Walnut or European White Oak. All four sides of each slat are veneered.
2. The core of each slat is made from toxen-free, high-density MDF, which is the most dimensionally-stable material that will not warp over time.
Please note, it's a common misconception that "veneer" means "artificial" or "fake". Wood veneer is simply a slice of real wood (not melamine or laminate) that is securely adhered to a solid core. It has been used by furniture makers for hundreds of years as it has all the benefits of solid wood (same look and feel) without the twisting and warping of solid wood.
Yes, the slats are easy to cut with a circular or mitre saw and a standard wood blade. The edges can even be sanded if desired.
The pre-drilled holes in each end (for the hardware) are 4cm deep. The hardware requires 2.6cm of depth to fit properly in each end, so if you cut more than 1.4cm from either end of the wood slats, you'll need to re-drill the holes for the hardware. This will require a 7/16" drill bit.
We don't offer cutting services or custom sizes at this time.
The hardware kit includes four spring-loaded pins and four threaded bolts, as well as eight floor/ceiling plates. 20 black Phillips screws are also included.
The spring-loaded pins can be easily compressed, allowing them to fit inside the ceiling plates. Once they're released, the spring expands the pin and holds the slat in place from the ceiling.
The threaded bolt works similarly, but on the floor. The bolt is fitted into the floor plates, and then twisted to expand outwards. The combination of the floor and ceiling hardware holds each slat in place, and allows each slat to rotate 360º.
Due to limited availability, we do not sell the hardware kit without the slats.
Every wood slat is sanded and finished with a matte lacquer, so sanding and staining typically isn't recommended.
Designed with you in mind, our products can be installed and customized with minimal tools and experience.
We plant one tree for every panel sold, and we're on a mission to be 100% carbon neutral in 2026.

A beautiful upgrade to our kitchen peninsula. It went from drab drywall to FAB as a standalone island and really plussed up the look we were going for. I am so happy with the quality!

I purchased the shorter, paintable, wide fluted panels for a kitchen island project. The panels took a plain textured white island to something designer level. Easy to paint, easy to install - I love it!
We installed wide plank walnut acoustic paneling behind our bed. The bedroom has a large vaulted ceiling. We decided to add paneling behind the bed with a frame on the sides and to not go all the way up the wall. AW sells wide plank walnut framing which gave our project a finished look. We had several outlets and wall light sconces to cut around so do yourself a favor and buy a cordless jigsaw.
Beautiful, easy to work with. Love the outcome!

I grabbed the wide slat in black for a useless entrance cubby that was a catch-all for anyone walking in. With the addition of some LEDs and hooks and a walnut tray it definitely now is both a statement and a more functional cubby.
We are so happy with the quality and color of our new panels. They are exactly what we needed to make our projects look finished. They came super fast and very well packaged. Would recommend and would buy again. Our painter is going to stain the butcher block counter tops in a complementary color.
