What are tongue and groove wall panels?
Tongue and groove wall panels are decorative wood planks designed to interlock along their edges. One edge has a protruding tongue, and the other has a matching groove that slots over it. This joinery system creates a seamless, continuous surface across a wall or ceiling with no visible gaps between planks.
Our tongue and groove wood panels feature a real white oak or walnut surface over an engineered MDF core, pre-finished and ready to install.
Tongue and groove wall planks can be installed using brad nails, construction adhesive, or a combination of both. The recommended installation method is called blind nailing: driving 16-gauge nails at a 45-degree angle through the tongue edge, so the nails are hidden by the next plank. This produces a completely fastener-free finished surface.
For tongue and groove ceiling installations, both adhesive and nails are required. All orders include detailed installation instructions, and our support team is available by phone and email if you need help during your project.
Yes. Our tongue and groove wood paneling can be installed either vertically or horizontally depending on the look you are going for. Vertical installation draws the eye upward and makes ceilings feel taller, making it a popular choice for entryways, living rooms, and bedrooms. Horizontal installation works well as wainscoting or as a feature treatment in dining rooms and hallways.
What is the difference between tongue and groove paneling and shiplap?
Tongue and groove paneling and shiplap are both horizontal or vertical plank wall treatments, but they join differently and look different once installed.
Shiplap planks overlap at the edges, and typically needs to be nailed through the surface, with filler and sanding required before painting the panels. Alternatively, tongue and groove is an interlocking system that can be installed without any nails showing after installation.
Shiplap typically has a small gap between each panel (known as a nickel gap, because it's the width of a nickel), whereas tongue and groove paneling fits snugly, with just a clean v-groove join line between each panel.
Yes, tongue and groove wood paneling can be installed on ceilings as well as walls. For ceiling installations, a combination of construction adhesive and 16-gauge finishing nails driven into joists or solid sheathing is recommended.
The result is a warm, continuous grooved wood ceiling that works particularly well in living rooms, bedrooms, and entryways.
Tongue and groove paneling works well in almost any interior space. It is particularly popular as a tongue and groove accent wall behind a bed, as full-height living room paneling, in entryways, and as ceiling cladding.
Our 44" half-length panels are a practical choice for wainscoting, kitchen islands, and half-wall treatments where a full floor-to-ceiling installation is not needed.

Easy to order and excellent customer service. Wonderful product
Just finished installing this amazing product. Room divider is now a focal ppoint of our living room and blends in wioth the rest of our furniture. Very happy with the result. One box was damaged in transit and the refund was issued promptly... Highly reccomend to everyone.
Love our new mudroom! Before, it was very plain and probably looked similar to the mudrooms in every other house in our neighborhood. Now, with a little paint, some new hardware and the beautiful fluted wall panels, it looks special. The wall panels arrived in perfect condition and were easy to paint and install. They were exactly what we needed for the unique and updated look we were going for.
After much searching for top quality product I found Andor Willow and it is, by far, the best product on the market.
I spent hours researching online, days waiting for samples and weeks to find the right product and this is it. The look is premium and you can certainly tell the difference between products. Install was easy and the look is second to none - and worth paying more for.
The products arrived on time and dealing with the company has been great. They are responsive, honest and went out of their way to help when I asked.
Thanks again Andor Willow Team and fully recommend.

We have installed various versions of this product from other companies.
This product was the first wide slat that we have installed
Very pleased with how the project came out, the quality was outstanding.
The face of the material wraps around the edge of each slat, which is a quality difference that we noticed right away compared to other manufacturers where the slats are only the face
Thank you for such a great product!!

Loved this product, easy to install and looks wonderful/ luxe.
Worked out great. Good quality, easy to install and created the character in my home that we desired.
Had a client who wanted a small but luxurious laundry room with special features. There are many wood paneling options out there, but these were economical and look fantastic. The client was thrilled with the final look.
I wanted a room divider to create a line between our entry and living area. The design works well with the mid century modern aesthetic I was going for. We did have to build a box on the tup and bottom to accommodate the ceiling height but it looks perfect. If you are considering the slats for your room, do it! They are really beautiful!
